About the race
Kalmar Swimrun is a one-of-a-kind race set in an extraordinary environment. The event will take place in the heart of the beautiful city of Kalmar, allowing spectators to closely follow the action and creating a unique atmosphere for the athletes. The race starts in Kalmarsundsparken and finishes at Larmtorget. Teams of two will race together, transitioning from island to island. Wearing a wetsuit, lightweight shoes, and a swim cap, participants will navigate alternating swim and run stages. Just like an amphibious vehicle, you'll be equipped to tackle both water and land. Teams swim between the islands and run across them.
The course
The course is fast and accessible, set in an unforgettable location. The total race distance is approximately 22 kilometers, combining both swimming and running. While the run features typical forest terrain such as roots, it is not considered particularly technical or challenging. The course will be clearly marked and signposted. Swim segments will be clearly indicated at both entry and exit points, with additional flags and pennants to help guide participants during longer swims. Athletes will need strong technique to efficiently transition in and out of the water, as there are several entries and exits throughout the race.
Safety boats, medical staff, and race officials will be positioned along the course to ensure the safety of all participants. Additionally, there will be energy zones with fluids, snacks, and medical support along the way.

All participants who complete the race will receive a unique, year-specific memento, as well as a goodie bag from our partners. Several prizes will be raffled, and the winners in each category will receive awards.
